Planar Cell Polarity in epithelia, compared to magnetic domains (polarization of a bar magnet, what happens when you cut one in half, minimal domain size, etc.): superficial analogy or deep? (with respect to how the dynamics work, not suggesting PCP actually involves magnetism) .
