Is there a name in psychology for trying to get someone to agree with a point of view or buy something by getting their general anxiety or stress level up (idea being that stress increases plasticity & willingness to accept change they normally wouldn’t)? Is that a known effect?

Suggestions needed: student-accessible (i.e., doesn’t need brain surgery as interface) & hackable prosthetic device that works well in the “extended body” plasticity mode. Like https://www.daniclodedesign.com/thethirdthumb or https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26964133/ – what are other good options nowadays?
